At its facilities in Latacunga, in Ecuador’s Cotopaxi Province, Naranjo Roses is developing a special rose collection inspired by several national teams that will participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The initiative includes roses and floral arrangements designed to replicate the colors of different national flags through a combination of selection, tinting, and assembly processes carried out entirely on the farm. Among the designs created are representations of Ecuador, the United States, Mexico, Canada, Argentina, and other countries associated with the tournament.

According to Carlos Gómez, General Manager of Naranjo Roses, the development of these products requires approximately six months of advance planning. The process begins with flower production in the greenhouses and continues through the stages of selection, color enhancement, and final arrangement assembly.

During production, the roses undergo tinting techniques that allow multiple colors to be incorporated into a single bloom, recreating the distinctive elements of each flag. The flowers are then sorted and prepared by the company’s staff for individual presentation or as part of larger floral compositions.

The farm’s facilities house both the cultivation areas and the workspaces dedicated to the manual preparation of the flowers. It is here that the handling, selection, and assembly processes are carried out to achieve the final designs.

The collection was conceived with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind, a tournament that will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. As part of the project, the company reported shipments of between 50,000 and 60,000 roses, primarily destined for the North American market.

In addition to individual roses, Naranjo Roses has developed football-themed floral arrangements. Among them is a floral trophy created with yellow, blue, and red roses representing Ecuador. The piece was produced in connection with activities surrounding the UEFA Champions League Final and was intended to be presented to Ecuadorian footballers who participated in this major sporting event.

The initiative adds to other projects recently undertaken by the company. In May 2026, Naranjo Roses collaborated with the Embassy of Ecuador in Hungary on the installation “The Heart of Ecuador,” presented at Vigadó tér Square in Budapest.

The structure, built entirely from Ecuadorian roses, reproduced the shape of a heart using the colors of the Ecuadorian flag. The exhibition was organized to commemorate the Battle of Pichincha and remained open to the public for several days in the center of the Hungarian capital.

Both the World Cup-inspired collection and the installation presented in Budapest are part of a broader series of projects developed by the company that incorporate design, color, and symbolic representation through the Ecuadorian rose.

These projects reflect a growing trend within the floriculture sector: the search for non-traditional spaces for Ecuadorian roses. While maintaining their presence in established markets and preserving the qualities that have built the product’s international reputation, some farms are exploring new ways to connect with consumers through experiences, symbols, and storytelling.
