[Machachi, october 24, 2025] – Ecoroses, a distinguished flower farm with over 28 years of operation in the country, celebrated the inauguration of its new photovoltaic system, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.

The company, which specializes in producing roses, ranunculus, and other floral products, has made an investment that aligns perfectly with the "eco" philosophy embedded in its name. Throughout its history, Ecoroses has consistently focused on sustainability initiatives, and this latest project represents a natural evolution of that commitment.
Following their achievement of Carbon Neutral certification last year, the company was inspired to invest in a comprehensive energy generation program aimed at becoming a fully self-sustaining enterprise.
"We now harness the power of the sun not only for the photosynthesis of our plants but also to generate all the energy required for our entire floriculture operation," said Esteban Chiriboga, president of the company

The inauguration event was attended by key partners who have supported Ecoroses' sustainability journey. Javier Acosta, Director of AIRIS, the company that supplied the photovoltaic system, and Francisco Aguirre from SICMA Ecuador, advisors in Carbon Neutral certifications, were present at the ceremony.
During the event, Javier Acosta presented a certificate to Esteban, recognizing the company's outstanding environmental commitment and leadership in sustainable practices.
The photovoltaic system represents Ecoroses' dedication to environmental stewardship and positions the company as a leader in sustainable floriculture, demonstrating that economic viability and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

The newly installed system features 1,019 solar panels and is projected to reduce approximately 180 tons of CO2 emissions annually – equivalent to planting more than 3,200 trees each year.
This solar initiative complements Ecoroses' existing portfolio of environmentally friendly practices, which include:
Rainwater recirculation systems
Organic waste reprocessing
Comprehensive commitment to the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle
